Adopting Tweens and Teens /AEP Plus
If you have already adopted a teen or you are in process (and have completed the MCFD AEP), this workshop series is for you. Learn about realities, outcomes, challenges and joys of adopting a tween or a teen. Share stories, network with other families and take away critical parenting strategies and resources to build success. Also includes a panel of teen adoptees and their families. Features AFABC Video: “Teen Adoption: You Have a Choice.”

Dates: Thursdays Feb 2,9,16,23.
Time: 7pm – 9:30pm.
Audience: Prospective adoptive parents who have completed MCFD AEP, or current adoptive parents with teens or tweens.
Event Details:
Arrival: Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to start time for this event.
Parking: Use any spot in the lot in front of the building.
Access: Ring the doorbell and we will buzz you in. This workshop is not wheelchair accessible, but alternative arrangements can be made.

Adoptive Families Association of BC
AFABC is a non-profit organization that provides province-wide support services and information to people who are beginning to think about adoption, people who have decided to adopt, and those who have already had a child or children join their family. AFABC also plays a significant role in promoting awareness and recruiting families for the close to 1000 children waiting in foster care for an adoptive family.
AFABC was started around a kitchen table in 1977 by a small group of adoptive parents who needed to share ideas, information, and support.
